SPROTBROUGH LIBRARY GROUP PUBLIC MEETING 1st FEB

The Sprotbrough Community Library Group are to hold a PUBLIC MEETING to inform the local residents and users of Sprotbrough Library of the latest progress in the bid to save the library from closure.  The Library run by DMBC will close on 31 March and should become a volunteer-run Community Library on 1 April.

All are invited to the Goldsmith Centre, Sprotbrough Road, Sprotbrough at 6.30 on 1 Feb to find out more about what this means in practice and in particular what it means for you. Join the interested parties (Sprotbrough Community Library Group, Sprotbrough Library Action Group, Churches Together, DMBC Library Service) and put your questions and suggestions to them.  Come along and find out what else is on offer in the library.

VOLUNTEERS will be sought to run the library on a day-to-day basis and training will be provided by DMBC for these people to help make the take-over smooth for the volunteer group.  If you are interested and have a few hours to spare each week then join this group and  get out of the house to meet and help people,  and find a new interest.

The group will be particularly keen to enlist the help of local professional people with experience and skills in finance, business, management and organisation to form or advise the management committee who would be running the library service at Sprotbrough.  Help to keep your local library serving the public in the Sprotbrough area.
