Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Sprotbrough will be celebrating the Week of Prayer for
Christian Unity (18 to 25 January 2012) with two initiatives.
First, Sprotbrough Road Methodist congregation has agreed to
become a signatory to the Churches Together in Sprotbrough Covenant and so
becomes a full member church.
Secondly, Churches Together is setting out to reach out to
those using the Sprotbrough Skate
Park, with the aim of
supporting young people’s awareness of God, and supporting their development and
needs.
Both initiatives will be celebrated in a service at
3pm
in St Edmund’s Church on Sunday 22 January. The Covenant will be signed and a
symbolic walk from the church to the
Skate Park will be made by representatives of
the covenanted churches.
Both are important events for the church in Sprotbrough. Do be there.
Prayer Facilities
A votive stand has been placed in
St Thomas’s Chapel and anyone wishing to light a
candle for a loved one or for a particular situation is welcome to do so.
Should you wish to make a donation,
please do so via the slot in the stand. There is also a prayer tree on the altar
and any prayers placed there will be incorporated within our daily Morning
Prayer services.
