Lead-in to Christmas

On Friday 4 December the usual cast, Barbara Perry, Wendy Taylor, Victor Hext, Ean Taylor, Bill Cavell and Ian Wilde  joined by pianists Barry Groves, Michael Towle and soprano Laura Sharp, presented the third Lead-in to Christmas in St Mary’s church.  Timed to coincide with early Advent, the concert featured readings, piano and organ recitals, soprano and tenor solos, sing-alongs and drama, and was rounded off with fellowship over ‘seasonal delights’.

  The useful sum of £281 was raised for the Church Roof Appeal Fund and, judging by the comments made afterwards, both the audience and the performers enjoyed themselves hugely in the process!
