The Badsworth and Heck Bridge, Garden Railway

Open Day

Andrea and Roger Offord very kindly opened up their Garden Railway to the public, to help raise funds for the church Roof Appeal.  They were helped by a number of volunteers, not least their neighbours, who very kindly allowed guests to use their garden as well  This helped greatly by allowing people plenty of room to move around.  Roger, who has owned the railway for a number of years, had persuaded a few of his fellow rail enthusiasts (didn't take much) to come along and bring a few more trains.  There was certainly plenty to see and do, and thankfully the weather was wonderful.

And for you aficionados

The railway is a narrow gauge railway of 2' gauge at a scale of 16mm to the foot which gives a track gauge of 32mm commonly known as 0 gauge.
Roger got into this madness about 10 years ago and since then it has slowly grown (regular watering helps)

Below are some photos of the day, click on each photo for a closer look at some of the detail of the railway.
